    Let's face it, we don't really own these trucks because of their outstanding mileage per gallon, I have an 06 duramax that gets over 20 cruising at 75, " towing is a different story". but to tell you the truth I like driving the 85 around town, Buy a commuter and keep the square.

    1984 short box suspension lift 4" or 6"

    The only thing to be concerned about with more than 4"; and your running a 208 transfer case' is the slip joint, I found a 241c for my 85 and now have a slip joint eliminator. The 208 slip joint will be your weakest point and cause you problems.

    I picked up a eaton detroit suregrip for an amazing price, it is for a 8.5 or 8.6 30 spline. I'm not sure if my axle shafts are 28 or 30 without removing them, Question is:; does any body know what make and part number I would need to replace the 28 spline axle to 30 if need be. Thanks

    Rancho lift Question

    I took the overloads off this morning and it looks like what they did is wound them down to get 1" more lift in the rear, so after I removed them I decided that the 1" block in the front was just a cheap way to get a little more lift. After removing all this B/S it sure rides good now!!

    I have a rattle noise when in 4 hi, if I push the shifter forward a bit the noise goes away, when I let it go back to the detent the noise comes back. the other ranges are fine, Is there an adjustment for the detent location or what is worn that may cause this? Thanks
