Folks, I looked for the casting number and found it by the bell housing:

10066036
86-up
350
Car & Truck 2 & 4-bolt Passenger stick 1-piece seal

So now back to the question. How/Why is it producing such low Dyno #s?

Well, it's not a 305 so that's a start. However, like you said, it could just be a run of the mill 350 or a poorly built 383. It could be anything. The heads, the head work, and the cam are the recipe for engine power. Second to that would be intake, headers, ignition, and gearing. With the deficit of information from the PO, and the disappointing dyno numbers, you may just have to get it down to the short block and build it yourself.

Well, even a Mexican crate 350 is better than a 305, all is not lost.
Those dyno numbers are representative of the stock configuration, to answer your question of WHY / HOW.
It must be fairly fresh, certainly not new. That is how it came to be so pretty.

Others have provided ideas to make more power, how much you can make is directly proportional to how much you can spend.

Now the only question worth considering is : "how to spend the budget".

I'm quick to assert that if it FEELS slow with those proven dyno numbers, the wack assed 3.08s MUST GO. For free maybe determining gear ratio will be helpful.

Let's see what else you're working with. Moar pics of the truck! :headbang:

This old girl got a name?

If the dyno was measured at the rear wheels, then 180hp and 260tq is not bad...?

Do you have the printout?
