I fired it up and warmed for about 20 to 30 seconds and it idled fine. Drove around the block. Punched it a little to get a hard shift and then drove it back about 20mph. Pulling in the driveway it started stumbling and wouldn't take Throttle very well. Then this.....

An aftermarket HEI dizzy I had let loose.. One of the weight pins broke off ad I lost advance... until the free weight arm jammed under the rotor and took ALMOST completely out. Was all twisted and the engine still ran... but rough! Like,
really really rough. Fortunately, it was the first thing I checked and found the issue. Usually doesn't work out that way for me haha.
Don't trust your new dizzy... new stuff flies apart too.

Sounds like the carb idle is set to low for one thing. I don't know about the Edelbrock but you should have it set to 900 rpm in park. But to die? Still think it's carb related. But shiftpro may be right. Or a combination of the two. You noticed it smoothed out as you increased the rpm. Carb!

Had the exact same behavior on my k5 this summer, started suddenly on a drive home. I thought it was electrical but it was a vacuum leak at the carb base.

Nothing yet. My fence got blew down so I've been fixing it. Maybe I can get to it this weekend. I did change plugs and it didn't help at all. Thinking distributor.

First of all you sound like a damn east Texas redneck. Music to my ears, understand ya just fine.
Do you have one of those fire checker things, plugs in between the wire and plug? Go get one, there cheap and very handy. Way I see it, in the video, could be fire or fuel (helpful ain't I)

Sounds like a vacuum leak or a stuck float dumping fuel into the carb.

If it is a stuck float would a good couple of wacks on the carb unstick it?

Sometimes. Sometimes you get a little piece of junk that gets stuck in between the needle and seat too. An easy way to tell if its a stuck float or a jammed needle is to look down into the throat of the carb while its running. If you see fuel dripping, you have a float or needle issue. A few taps with a brass hammer or rubber mallet might fix it, or it might sort itself after a few starts or a good romping around the neighborhood. I'd take a peak down the carb while its running and if it isn't a noticeable drip I'd start spraying the intake and carb base with some starting fluid while idling. If it suddenly revs up when you spray a certain area, you found a vacuum leak.
