Hey all, I have decided that I would replace my fuse panel and wires instead of trying to figure the originals out since it had so many other things in the dash that was used for old truck back then. I have my new one basically installed or routed and will hide the wires when I am finished with the install of them. So my question or two that I have is power to the fuse panel. I have no place where it says battery or power. So I am not sure how the fuse panel would get any constant power with at that battery cable being connected to fuse panel. I also uploaded pics with my post. One photo shows a wire that comes from starter to the top of a maga fuse from what I had been able to find. That wore from fhe mega fuse is suppose to go into the fuse panel however no label on it that says battery. Help me pls….
Secondly I have my techometar that I’m installing as well. My new harness comes with a techometer wire same color as the wires for my techometer as well which I have that clipped into the techometer part on my distributor hei and then the coil wire on the opposite side of that says battery. What would I do with the wire from my harness if I am not using it for the techometer or can I wire one from the techometer to the wire from my harness and would they both work so I don’t have to eliminate any of the the two??
Thanks for the help

Looks like you are missing a wire on your junction block. Goes from the block down to the starter, for power.

Seems like an ambitious undertaking. Wiring can be a challenge.

I have those wires all connected. I know what one your talking about and he’s they are all routed from the fuse pannel ro the starter and the starter to the alternator and then battery. This mega fuse is what I’m confused about and I am not sure why I’m stuck on this or if it’s something that I can eliminate from my wire feed. If I have that wire from my fuse box labeled at starter power and then continues up to my alternator then battery they does the fuse panel get power if there is no wire from my battery going into panel? I’m not sure if I make any sense and if I do pls bare with me

Well, Not being there, hard to decipher. BUT, as a general rule, on these trucks, there are at least 2 wires on the big stud. One feeds the fuse box and ignition switch. The other is power, from the big stud on the starter. Sometimes there are 3 there. Alternator power wire is usually going down to the big stud on the starter, also. The little stud on that block is for optional stuff, and upfitter stuff.
However, many people have run a wire from battery over to the big stud, and also connect alternator there. Perhaps some instructions came with your new harness?

So I am not sure how the fuse panel would get any constant power with at that battery cable being connected to fuse panel.

Here's a crude diagram for how the fuse block gets constant power. Wiring changed slightly over the years so your may differ slightly or if you're using an aftermarket harness. These should all be red wires.
