Whats the difference in c10 and r10

R10 nomenclature was introduced in 1987 to differentiate the Squarebody style trucks that used fuel injection and to clear the way for the new body style trucks to use the C/K designation. Since the squarebody style continued until 91' in burb and crewcab format, they were designated as R or V (R = 2wd, V= 4wd), and the new body style trucks were C or K.

i know this sounds stupid. but i never figured out what the difference between c and k was. is it 4 vs 2 wheel drive?
