What is holding my rotor on?

Question, why not bast off the heads of the hold down nails?
Or does that not apply to this style of drum drakes for shoes dug into the drums?

So, Ihave updates!! I had removed the passenger side drum to learn how the star adjuster gets backed off. You guys explained it well, YouTube did as well. I realized the bar I need to push wasn't there on the drivers side and the star wheel wouldn't budge. I had reached the conclusion to grind the SOB off.
Gave my brain a day (also looking for my grinder) when I spotted my cable winch puller. That's what she took, but still not easily. The bar had broken and lodged itself between the rotor and the guts. Now I can roll my Suburban!! Thank you all for the schooling and patience. I'm new to this Suburban but I also have a 67 F100 , a Ford 8N, and old Benz...What else is out there?! More rookie questions coming!
