Vacuum actuator for kick panel

My pickup is a 1979 Silverado; but the cab came off of a 1977, I think a Scotsdale.

The guy who was working on my pickup left me several boxes of parts, and I have to figure out what everything is and where it goes on the truck. He threw away lots of parts that are needed.

I want to install the passenger side kick panel, but don’t know how it is supposed to be put together.

I put the vent door into the passenger side kick panel from my 1979 Silverado.
After spending a lot of time searching the Internet; I figured out there is supposed to be a vacuum actuator connected to the vent door to open and close it.

I found a used one that includes the bracket it is attached to and the spring. It came off of a 1991 RV. Will that work OK on my 1979 pickup?

I don’t think GM ever really made significant changes to these things during the square body’s entire run, so as long as you hook it up in a way that the door/door linkage doesn’t bind, I don’t see why it wouldn’t work.

I thought actuators changed after 87 but more research required.

I’m not much concerned about if the vacuum actuator doesn’t work the way it’s supposed to, because I can buy a new one from a local auto parts store.
My concern is that the bracket might be different, and I don’t have the original bracket to compare it with. I guess I will buy the one off the 91 vehicle and hope it fits.
