I've been waiting 14 months to make this post. First off I want to say thank you to everyone on this board for their advice and wisdom in helping me fix the Basket Case. As of right now this is what the truck needs done to make it driveable:
adjust clutch linkage to get slop out of the pedal
check the 2/3 shifter fork linkage since the transmission doesn't go into second
check oil, coolant, transmission oil and brake fluid
grease the u joints and front end
new bulb for license plate light

Yep, that's the entire list. Everything else is done.

I will get pictures and post them as soon as I can. I'm limited on the amount of time that I can spend working on the truck. Last time I tried to do a test drive the truck ALMOST made it around the block before I had to have my neighbor (who has a Z71 OBS) tow me home....

There are 2 kinds of vehicles..Ones that get unreliable and end up being put to pasture in one way or the other. And, then there are cars and trucks that you work on the little things and they keep getting better and better. My C10 "Ralph" keeps getting better with small bits of effort that make it a newer truck. I've had a few cars like this, that get better during ownership.. Unfortunately I then sell them due to lack of space to keep them, or needing the cash.
