Thinking of switching from a th350 to the 4 speed manual. Question is will my np205 fit or would I need a different spline input.

You will need the transmission from a 4wd and the transfer case or at least the adapter and input shaft, from the transfer case whut fits that specific transmission.
I think I gotit right. LOL

Your np205 will have a 27 spline input. The '84-prior 4 speed used a 10 spline setup with a drive coupler. So you would need the trans, adapter, coupler, and then the correct input for your t-case or just another t-case with the correct input.

I have a trans, adapter, coupler, and even a 10 spline input... but you should be able to find parts closer to you I would think.

I forgot to ask, are you sure you have a 205? '77 auto equipped truck would have had a 203 originally.

Alright, if you want I can find that input and make sure it's still in good shape.

I could use the sliding collar and shaft and gears each side of the sliding collar. That would be the assemblies to take it from high to low range.
it would require a partial disasemble until You got to it though.
That would be if they are in good condition and slides easily from low to high.
If You are innerested, send Me a PM or just reply here, let Me know how much You would want for them.
