Successfully fixed my wiper parking position switch

After reading several great threads on here, I took out my wiper park switch and found that the contact was being held open by a small "blob" of plastic on the stationary contact arm:

The contact points could never meet. After careful scrapping and digging, out it came and now the points meet correctly until the arm is lifted by the cam ramp on the gear. Wipers now park correctly! Not sure how or why this blob came from, but it's gone now. I will keep the original motor assembly in the truck and keep the nice new one as a spare.

As a side comment, if you look in the dictionary for the definition of a "Rube Goldberg" machine, this is probably the picture you would see for a water pump:

I spent over 3 decades in water distribution and pumps, for clean water it's hard to beat a spinning impeller driven by an electric motor.
