shock bolt

so one of my upper rear shock bolts is about wore through and im having trouble finding a replacement. its kinda a crazy lookin thing with different threads on each side of the part that goes through the bushing and a nut in the middle. Im having trouble finding a replacement, any ideals?

You might check with NAPA auto parts, often they are good for coming up with hard to find stuff.

I would say maybe a GM dealership. Actually who knows you might be able to get that from your parts store. I have never had to get one but im sure if you had to a trip to the junk yard might do it.

You mean the bolt that often comes with new shocks?

yes that bolt comes with new shocks. you can buy it separately but good luck finding a parts guy that knows what your talking about or is willing to look it up. highdesertranger

You mean USED to come with new shocks.
The latest trend is don't put anything more in the package than one part.
Used to be, buy a full gasket set for a SBC and there were gaskets included that covered different applications. They don't do that any more.

I got 6 new shocks and I had to reuse those upper ones. Never came with the shocks. Neither did the front dual shock bolt.

I bought a shock mount kit at napa which came with those bolts
I also bough procomp shocks and they came with these bolts

I will look when I get home from work and see if I can find part numbers

called the gm dealership, they couldn't even give me a part #

closest junkyard is 2 hours away

I have fairly new bds shocks, they don't include one nore do they sell them(I had to replace the lower bushing)

haven't tried napa yet, carquest had no clue

They still came with my set of Rancho RS9000XL's.

I reused the old ones since they were still in perfect shape and were near impossible to remove anyway.
