I've been looking at what is available in the way of shallow mount and tube subs, leaning more toward a shallow mount, and I'm wondering what you guys would recommend.

My last system was a 12w6v2 slot ported box powered by a 700w rms Fosgate amp, 1.5farad cap, 2x 5x7 Infinity Kappa series, 2x 3 1/2 Infinity Kappas, powered by a 250w rms Phoenix Gold amp, with a nice Clarion deck. I was getting 129.9DB out of it. I know whatever sub or subs I find are prolly not going to be as nice as my previous system but I'm hoping to find something worth getting.

Personally I like the Rockford fosgate p3 shallow mount on a alpine 500 watt mono block v power or x power both are good

well with shallow mount you have to pretty much give up 1. deep bass or 2. spl. which is more important to you?

honestly i think a ported enclosure would be the ticket. yes this is possible with the small box behind the seat. here is a plot of my current set up in yellow. its 2 kicker cvt 12's in a sealed enclosure. the green is 2 alpine swr 8's (yup 8's) in a ported enclosure tuned to 28 hz. i am really considering the change myself because you set great low end extension at pretty high decibels. deep loud bass. only drawback is you gotta make the enclosure yourself.
