Please Help Me:
How in the world do I get my hands behind the gauge cluster so I can attach the speedometer cable to the gauge cluster.
My issue is there is no space to get my hands back there.
Q: what's the trick or technique

Seems like I put my back on the floorboard and reach up and feel where the spring prong and speedometer end is and guide the cable on. Just a 1 hand process and by feel. You might be able to see the speedometer end with a flashlight and having your head up in the lower dash, but you won't be able to look and install it that I remember.

Good Luck!

You also need to push firmly but carefully until the flared end of the cable gets by the spring clip and is held in place. The speedometer might initially work if it’s not fully seated, but it will eventually pop back out, or make the needle bounce later.

Is the cable not long enough to take the cluster out, connect the cable then put it back together?

Pull the cluster and do it from the front as you put it back in.
