Possible battery drain

I recently took my running boards off they had lights and garbage wires running to them. Since taking them off my battery has been draining weirdly. Could one of those wires touching something else like the frame be causing a slow draw on the battery?

If it is touching the frame you should be getting sparks due to a direct short. Did you just cut the wires or did you cut and cap them? Guessing the first.
