not much to say, had an 05 duramax but sold it to buy a 87 GMC V3500 SRW 454 Stick shift. Best decision ever, love having my square body. She needs work but all in all is a solid truck

its been a lot of work, previous owner had a spray bomb paint job from someone's back yard, paid a friend at a local paint shop to strip it down and spray it red. so far I have completed the following...

CRES brake line kit
CRES braided brake hoses
brake master cylinder
thermostat, housing, and upper radiator hose
parking brake cables
hood release cable
driver door hinge pins
drag link
axle u joints both sides
fuel tank and sending unit
front rotors and pads
driver brake caliper
wheels painted and new tires
fender emblems
tailgate insert with emblem
wheel caps
grille and emblems
heater core
blower motor
front bumper outer braces
gas cap
rag joint
steering gear
headlights
cab clearance lights and lenses
tailgate hinges
clutch master and slave cylinder

next up... if nothing else unexpectedly breaks... I will be having an original SM 465 with a NP 205 transfer case put back in it, with adapters and drive shafts as well.

previous owner had a newer 5 speed with a NP 208 put in the truck, which required drive shafts that were a different length than stock

Out of curiosity, what kind of mileage does that get with the big block? I'll be putting a 4 speed manual in my truck when I get to putting It back together, and have been kicking around the idea of adding a big block too.

I have no idea. it is not my daily driver, I only use it a couple times a week. I never checked gas mileage, the engine is a lot quieter with the 5 speed.

yea I love the truck the minute I saw it I knew it was a keeper, very rare to find a truck in New England that is not rusted to nothing from road salt and the winters we get up here
