So I've been fighting a power loss for the past few days and I noticed it was beginning to run like pure dog ****.
I had replaced the advance weights/springs as I thought maybe that would help.

But the engine started to run like poop in the 3k+ range
So, I changed my advance springs to a less tension one and that moved the poop range down to 2k lol. :roflmao:

Checked the timing and my base timing was at 46° :whoa: :insane:
:yucky:

I had it set at 21°.

SO, I reset the timing and it was running great.
Backed it out of the garage to take it for a test drive and it started running like **** again like the distributor is just advancing itself.

Didn't check it, because at this point I was getting to pissed at it. So its just parked now.

Is my distributor shot?

Thing is tightened down pretty good.

This is driving me crazy lol

I had the same problem with mine at 1 time. I finally had to get a different hold down for the distributer. Even though the hold down was tight the dist. was moving as I was driving.

Just a thought.

Also consider the distributor gear, camshaft where the distributor gear meets, or the timing chain.

Lol timing chain was replaced almost a year ago

Snapped my crank sprocket in half so I went ahead and replaced both gears and the chain

Sounds like it's time to pull the distributor and check the gear, maybe the roll pin sheared.

Well I got bored so I went and pulled it out

Gear looks fine. Doesn't seem to be any play

Does look like it might either be a combo of the center weight being upside down and maybe it being on the wrong vacuum port on my carb.

I'll have to look into more later
