Looking for the GMC grill emblem for a 1990 Suburban that fits the grill I have. I just purchased a 1990 Suburban that has the following grill
I have tried to email a few of the companies that sell it, and have had no luck finding the correct emblem to fit this hole pattern.

I've not seen that emblem reproduced in the aftermarket. I'd venture to guess you'll need to track down a used one and refurb it or retrofit a newer emblem

Got a picture of what you're looking for? THAT is one of the reasons I bought a high end 3-D printer to play with. To make items for my 78.

I don't know how familiar with 3-D printing you are, so I'll just ramble a bit.

Different filaments are used for different applications. For examples, I have about twenty roles of PLA. It's cheap, there is a huge assortment of colors, sheens and such. However, it doesn't hold up to weather and if left on a dash in the hot summer is likely to convert to from a statue of the GMC god to the blob. PETG would hold up better, but only a bit. To last, the item would have to be printed from ABS, nylon or another filament more tolerant of heat.

Then there is the color matter. You'd need a role for each color and some of those filaments can run, say, $40.00. As such, if one is going for a couple roles to print logos, it might be a good plan to have a reason to print several.

Finally, if the entire boarder is white and the interior red (for example), the printer has to change filaments every time it comes to the new filament. So, moving left to right, it would change the filament several times. Each time it would have to purge a bunch of filament to insure a pristine print.

An example of how that would go can be seen on a YouTube video in which a guy printed a duck. The waste from purging competed with the amount of filament in the print. However, by printing 20 ducks, he got the exact same amount of waste for twenty as he did for one. However, if the print is big, you can only do so many.

Part of the reason to use the filament is, sitting around, many filaments suck up moisture and have to be dried just prior to use.

Anyway, my C15 has a Chev emblem on the grill and I was thinking of printing one to cover it, and printing one for the plain-Jane aftermarket tail gate. It's just a matter of choosing which one to use.

SIDE NOTE: The ones in the photos are three colors, base of black capped in red with a white border.
