I'm new and am in need of some help or advice
I have a 87' V10 Silverado 350 FI 4x4
My truck was running great. I parked it. I went to start the next day and when you turn the key the truck acts like it is dead. The key tumbler is very loose when turning. It won't shift out of park. Truck still has power, lights, horn etc.
Now to add, it does have an alarm but I don't have any details on brand or type as it was on the truck when I bought it. The key fob won't lock or unlock the doors currently.
Maybe the alarm killed the truck but why wouldn't it still not shift out of park when key is turned forward? I have checked fuses and wires under the dash with no signs of any problems
Any help or advice would be appreciated
