Howdy all,
My family is the proud owner of 2 square bodies, a 1981 C-20 and a 1991 R1500 Suburban (I realize it falls outside of the 73-87 window, but I promise it is square
. )
The 81 is in the process of being put back together, it had the transmission rebuilt, and while it was out we pulled the engine, cleaned the engine bay up, and repainted it and the frame that we could get to. I'll post pics in the near future.
We call this truck the 6 year truck as we figure that is the time frame it will take to get it back into very good shape. Also, in 6 years our oldest son will be 16 and it will be come his truck. He is actively working on it and as he gets older and has a job it will be some of his money going into it as well.
The 1991 is our daily driver and has 254,000 miles on the clock. The plans for it include a transmission and engine rebuild as well as a new coat of paint. It is the reason we found this site as it is giving us some problems. Is it ok to ask about a 1991? If not no worries, I have enjoyed looking around the site prior to joining and look forward to sharing our progress on our vehicles.
I have babbled on enough.
