Hey I put in an electric fuel pump and going to install 1000watt amp. Anyone have similar setup and did you have to upgrade your alternator?

Is it a real amp that actually puts out 1000 watts, or a no name brand that advertises 1000 watts, then in fine print it states that it puts out 1000 watts at a frequency that we can't hear? Huge difference in the amount of power draw.

It’s a 90A alternator, Fitech in-line fuel pump with 25A fuse and cheap AMP with 30A fuse.

The amp should come with specs that show what the draw is in watts, we need that to do the math.

Is it a sub amp? Or a multi channel amp for speakers?

^To add to that, it would seem that the fuel pump will be pulling less than 25A, probably less than 15A. And the stereo amp, unless it’s bumpin won’t pull anywhere near the 30A fuse load.
You’re good.
And worst case, it’s not going to matter unless you’re bumpin and pushing max fuel volume all the time and have a crappy battery.
You’re good!

Copy all thanks. Multi channel just running 2ea 6x9s + 2ea 5-1/4s. Batteries good so I’ll give it a try and see if voltage holds. Away at work now just wanted to get an alternator coming if required for sure. Thanks for the advice all.

E just replaced his alternator with a part store replacement while I was out of town. Running a 5 channel 1500W amp with dash dual Chanel speaker, kicker 6X9” in corners an and two 12” subs behind the seat. It works fine, can usually hear him coming about a block away! So never checked the amp on alternator but it obviously can do it all.
