I've got a bearing driver and tested it it doesn't touch the seal face. I just want to minimize my hammer strikes by heat up the female or receiver end (axle tube) and cooling/freezing the bearing having it in the freezer.

Heat and cold worked a treat. Got the driver side in.
Driver side shaft had normalish wear but passenger side, yeah I can see why there's a repair bearing in there. Geez.

It's such a sh!t day for this. Suns out then it rains. Then stops and turns to snow. N now sun is back out lol.

Gonna see if i can get 2 for 2. And shut this diff up. Fill it. And address the brake leak that started this while issue.
Passenger rear was wer. Brake light was on.
Turns out it's the rear center hose where the leak is. And the passenger wheel was diff. Yay.

I will say this.

This job may have been a blessing in disguise.
The cross pinion shaft bolt.
That Lil tiny 1/4 bolt thst holds the shaft between the spider gears. Well. She was finger tight. I got a new one. And red flavour loctite

I believe the torque online i 25 or 27 ft lbs.

Do you guys have a different recipe that worked for you in the past.

I don't wanna go too crazy. If that snaps. Oh man....

Great success!

Different is all buttoned up. Lost daylight. So tomorrow will be filling the diff and then brake reassembly. Should be fine from here.

Appreciate the quick replies during my "touch cloth" moments there. Scared the hell outta me.

Cheers everybody.

And in case anybody is reading this having a hard time with bearings in the future and comes across this thread:
Heat the axle tube to have a tiny bitnif expansion, and "shrink" the bearings by putting them in the freezer. The longer the better. Works a dream.

Cheers @DoubleDingo
Today's drum brake. It'll probably take me longer to do that than it did to do all the other stuff. Lol

Slow and steady, and hopefully you took pictures before tearing thing apart so you know it's going back together correctly.

I did. Otherwise I'd be in trouble.
That rubber line that goes into the distrobution block that bolts up to the diff cover and goes to each wheel, well, the other end of that rubber line is where it's leaking, (brake fluid) can I or should I flare braided line. Feels like pandoras box here. Ill need to uncoupling further down and it's all rusted to hell.

Like I'm at the hardware store now,, tried to replace wheel cylinder and the flared nit is jist rounding off. Seized to hell.

I've never used braided. Doing anything under a vehicle is hit or miss when it comes to fasteners being rusted together or not.
