High beam selector

I have an 87 R10 with the quad lighting, reg on too and highs on bottom. I had an issue in my steering coulmn I took care if, but that plastic piece that holds the high beam selector metal rod fell out until I put it back in, hopefully the right way, but it's not doing anything when I try to pull back on the stalk for highs.

Yes I made sure the end if the rod was in the actually actuator on the bottom of the coulmn, bust still nothing.

Any ideas are greatly appreciated. Thanks again for your time and help

This guy had a bad ass post, but it appears that it has been pulled- bummer.

This picture may give you an idea of how it fits - if its not in right, the dimmer won't work.

If it is, there may just be a simple adjustment at the dimmer switch needed.
