Hello All,
Like I said in the title, I am new to the forum and so far very happy I found it. I have read a lot of good stuff and have already been able to answer some questions I had just by reading some of the members posts.
A little about myself, I am am 33, married, and have a 16 year old son. I am also a foster parent and have 4 other boys who are younger that the wife and I are planning to adopt if the opportunity should arise. I recently bought a 79 C10 to give the boys and us something to do together and also hopefully teach them a little something in the process. Fun Fact, I specifically bought a 79 C10 because that is the same year of my very first truck which I bought when I was 15.
The truck its self, originally had a v6 which at some point a PO switched out with a 350. It still has the original 3 speed trans however they took it off the column and put it on the floor. I am not sure of the year for the motor as I have been unable to find the date.
Some things I would like to do;
Replace the steering column with one that has tilt.
Find a seat that is more to the original as the PO replaced it with a split bench out of a dodge. It currently sits to high and does not adjust.
Replace the Floor Pans as they are currently patched.
Possibly switch out the 3 speed with a 4 speed
And a lot more as you can imagine.
I am posting a pic or two so you can see it. I would love to hear any feedback. Unfortunately I have not really worked on cars since I was in my teens so I look forward to reading more through the forum and learning from some guys who have a passion for classics like I do.
