By Request, here are pics of the Haggerty Snapress I use for building auto transmissions.
For anyone interested in a close up view of this tool, or those who want to try to make something similar, here are some pics.

Here is a link to Haggerty. Notice the fingers on mine. Mine is over 20 years old and there has been a design change for deeper drums like the 3-4 clutch drum of the 700r4 and 4L60-E for example. Mine also came with longer fingers in a differant design than shown now. I probably ought to order the kit to upgrade my press, or make my own. It can't be there hard once I had the tool. The fingers just slide on the pivot point.

Any way you can tell me how deep the teeth are cut? Also how many teeth per inch?

The teeth are right at about 1/16in deep and are spaced exactly 1/8in apart, so 8 per inch.

Not to bring threads back from the past, but just saw this one... Very nice... Gives me a better idea of what I'd be getting myself into if I try to make something similar. If I could find one cheap, I wouldn't mind purchasing it.

Thank You HRPC,them pics. gives Me good incentive to start building some tools.
Also, before compressing them clutch packs I try to have the teeth of the dsks lined up to aid in etting the assembly into them disks.
The disks arent under the spring pack so they do move around,it is just easier to try and have them aligned so the assembly slides into them a bit easier.
