Gas gauge not working

Hey everyone I have a gas gauge in my truck that doesn’t work it’s a 85 single tank and the gauge is fully laid over any suggestions?.

More details.... pegged wich way? F or E? One way is lack of power one is lack of ground. Id make sure the wires are plugged on at the tank first

Poor connections at the clips behind the fuel gauge can cause intermittent issues. Remove the gauge and squeeze the clips for a better connection. I did this many years ago and have had no problems since.
