86 K20. fuel leaking from the one small port on fwd side of valve. There is a small hose maybe 2 inches long attached to it. I'm assuming this is a vent. I'm thinking there must be an internal leak in the valve. Any other ideas? Thanks

Check all hoses if they have a tiny hole or are brittle. The fuel could flow from the leak down and and drip from the valve.
If the fuel is coming out of the valve there is an internal leak or something like dirt is preventing the valve to fully close. Or the plastic parts of the valve could be cracked. That's what I would check.
Picture of the valve would help a lot.

Thanks. I'm not that good at downloading pics. But, I cleaned thing off as best I could and can see fuel dripping right out of that short hose. I'm not sure but probably original. I will check again around all hoses, little later 20 degrees out right now.

While it’s cold out find a diagram of the switching valve so you know which port it is. Sounds like your truck is like many where the fuel tank switching system was neglected and rigged for…whatever reason.

i must just be a bad hose, to my knowledge, yours shouldnt have a tank vent, if you still have your charcoal canister all of the vent should runnout to that line right next to your steering box a the front of the truck. If oyu have that deleted and have it plugged like i did then the fumes are building up in the tank and then leaking out of your line, it would also cause fumes to expell from your cap when you open it.
