So I just bought a 77 k10 cheyenne with dual fuel tanks and the previous owner tried to change the fuel tank selector valve and kind of messed it up. He put on the 6 port valve and never wired it up or even hooked it up. He had connected both tanks to the fuel pump with a t valve. I went in and connected it up and rewired the whole thing and got a new switch with 4 pins. When I hook it up the fuel Gauge doesn't read unless I push the button for the left hand tank and when I do the gauge reads way past full. So I checked the voltage and it's getting a full 12 volts which is wrong. After checking all the wiring nothing else is getting power and I'm very confused. Can anyone help me figure it out?
