Fuel change over valve Vs twin electric pumps

This is just a thought at the moment but i suspect my fuel change over valve may be dead, possibly a wiring issue but still to work through it all, its great fun.

Has anyone binned off the change over valve and just swapped to switched twin electric pumps?

Again, for those who aren’t aware I’m UK based and can’t just pop to my local salvage yard or parts guy and get anything genuine / OE parts for this. Its either order from somewhere like RockAuto or come up with a workaround to use readily available suitable parts from UK suppliers.

No reason it wouldn't work, but you'd want to make sure the pumps have check valves to prevent backflow. And of course, you'd have to deal with the fuel return lines. The fuel return can go just to one tank. Use that tank first, then when you switch, a lot of the fuel will go to the first tank, so switch back and use it. Works fine as long as you don't forget how it works.

Or you could go to a manual valve if you can find one with 2 ganged valves for supply & return, or 2 separate valves.
