The center and passenger A/c vents in the dash flop down and seem very loose...like there's a wire clip missing.......what going on. Is there a wire clip missing or am I missing something else?

There isn't a clip, but the plastic vent snaps into the surrounding plastic housing. There are round tabs on either side of each vent. These tabs do wear out over time. You can buy replacments through LMC Truck.

There are felt washers at each side of the movable outlet pins. For the far left side vent, pop the housing open and pull the outlet from the casing. You will see two felt discs on either side;

Here are a couple of images showing the center vents with both the felts on one end:

They go flat after years of use and need to be made thicker. How you go about increasing the thickness is up to you.

If you don't want to pull the dash you can push small strips of black craft felt in-between the vent and the housing. I have done this till I pulled the dash.

Thanks Guys!
I noticed one worn felt disc after I posted. I think McMaster-Carr can supply replacement felt washers or rubber o-rings could fit the bill as well.
Appreciate the replies!

You can use the stick-on felt feet sold at the hardware store. Just punch a small hole in the center and you're good to go.

Buy a pack of furniture leg floor protectors and slice just the felt pad off. Cut a little hole in the middle and...just like factory:

Or, garden hose washer work pretty well.

The hole is too big, but the thickness is about perfect - and the stickiness of the rubber kind of locks the outlet right where you leave it.
