Hello everyone, my name is Felipe, im from São Paulo (Saint Paul for you fellas) Brazil.
First, I apologize for my horrible english, I probably sound too stupid, but I'll try ... LOL !...

I would like to introduce our "fórum", here a legion of worshipers of Chevrolet trucks.
our community is called "Picapes GM" in a free translation, Pickup GM.
here the link, http://www.picapesgm.com.br/forum/index.php

in Brazil, we had several chevy trucks.
began with the advanced design like in america ..
from the task force, had the unique versions, and so it was until 1997.

in 1984 began the square body, which we call here the "quadradonas" or the big squares, all models are based on C/K Series.

the models of 1984:

D20 (Diesel vesion)
A20 (Alcohol, or ethanol, version)
C20 (Gasoline version)
Bonanza (Blazer K5, Diesel and Regular)
Veraneio (Suburban, Diesel and Regular)

engines were the GM 250, straight six.
and Maxions S4, 4 cylinders Diesel engine.
We had no V8, no 4x4 and much less automatic transmissions...

here some pics of the models.

Is a GM 250, it is being rebuilt.
With a.....
-tuned Lotus Overhead.
-Crower 276 can.
-Megasquirt eletronic fuel injection.
-Borgwerner K27 Turbocharger, on 15 PSI.
-transmission Clark 260F, manual four speeds

the engine will deliver something between 450 - 500 HP.... that's is good to me...:badidea:

thank you all, I liked you from the community.
greetings to all friends

Welcome to GMSB Felipe. We like seeing the South America Trucks here. I wish we could get some of them here.

That's going to be a nice build on the 250. Are any of these your trucks? What are you putting the 250 in?

have lot work to put the engine running, here in Brazil, is hard to get all of components and that's be very expensive... but, when is done, will be a beautiful engine.

during the rebuild I post somes pics of progress.

That's very interesting. You guys don't get V8's, Automatic transmissions or 4 wheel drive. Is that all due to your country's fuel consumption or air pollution standards?

Yes, please do post up your progress on your Blazer. We have a section for build threads in the Under Construction section. I copy part of your first post and make you a build thread on your truck so we can watch your build and progress.

No, it more cultural things.
the only V8's whe have here is the Dodge L.A 318 SB. and Ford 292 and 302 SB, GM never offer any V8, only the "stovebolt" 261 and the GM 250, and rarely to see the GM 292, used on rare C60 trucks.

I think the reason is that in Brazil the cars are more similar to European models, than U.S.
small cars because fuel consumption.
until 1970, fuel is no problem here, and the cars become more similar to U.S models, after crisis on the end of decade, the few V8 and large 6 cylinders disappeared.

only few models of cars, such Ford Galaxie 500 (302 V8) and some models of Dodge Dart (318) and a Chevy Opala (similar of yours Camaro, but have 2 and 4 doors versions) with the Chevy 250 are survived for more years.

in case of trucks, gasoline and Ethanol versions is the base of line and are rare, most of trucks seling here ons 80's 90's and early os 2000's are Diesel versions, more used on work, i think 90% of all Ford and Chevy trucks selling here, is the Diesel versions.
that's why V8 is not used here, expensive Fuel and no culture with this kinf of engine.

automatic trans. is the same case, but less tham fuel cosumption and more for absolutely no culture.
the Ford's Galaxie selling here in 70's and 80's offer the C4 gearbox, but the owner prefer the manual version in most of cases.
see, if t our people prefer a luxury (for Brazil) sedan with a stick shift, imagine the truck owners, I think I did not even know this type of transmission.

4 wheel drive, i don't no tell you why not is popular here, i think I think it was never very necessary for the use of Brazilian truck, even thats is very stupid, becuse is very useful.

in began of 2000's the full-size trucks have been discontinued by Ford and Chevrolet.
now only mid-size trucks are selling here, the *** trucks are also sold.
the funny thing is that only now auto trans. and 4x4 is popular on the trucks, but only in diesel versions, the gas versions only have a 4 cylinders engines.
yeah that's pretty ridiculous.

before getting sad, I appreciate the help in promotion of my progress on the engine.
soon i post some pics.
and again, sorry the bad English, I hope you're understanding me.

Its really interesting to see someone from another country join, mostly because its not just another Texan :emotions33:

Those trucks you are posting look absolutely nothing like what we have here, thats really interesting. I can see slight similarities around the upper doors and thats about it. They actually look like Ford trucks to me for some reason, do you have any pictures from underneath or inside? Im wondering if all the running gear looks the same as our stuff.

Really neat stuff you are posting and Welcome!

Irishman, not a texan and also not a Brazilian hillbilly LOL !!, i'm a city boy, so maybe it gets even weird :lol:e.

our chevy trucks are based on C/K Series, the same frame, same suspension and some another similarities.
only the body, the axes, transmissions and the engines are different.

the models before 1984, is more similar to american Chevys... take a look.
I think the most beautiful models manufactured here.

My Dad had one of these models, with 250-S engine.
this engine equip the Chevy Opala who competed in Stock Car, a kind of Brazilian Nascar.
he put 130 mph on truck before the cops stop him, it a relly bad truck....:893karatesmiley-thu

Anyway.
here some pics of the frame of the square models.
