Hi. Im looking for 454 valve covers. Maybe black? No markings on them.
Tall enough to clear 1.7 rockers

Show me what you got , maybe even tell me what youre looking for in exchange.

Just fyi, stock stamped style rocker arms are 1.7 so short valve covers will fit. If you are running aftermarket rockers with polylock type nuts then you'll need tall style covers.

I have a set of these plain tall aluminum ones sitting under a bench at home because I replaced them with a tall set of fabricated ones.

If you want to confuse someone get some custom "Olds 260ci" or similar for the valve covers, itll make for fresh conversation

Ummm.. hows $40 plus the ride sound? If you're good with that, I'll have my wife figure out what shipping will be.

When I had my 64 Ford Fairlane GT it had 289 Hi perf emblems on the fenders.
That's what I said it was while it was actually powered by a 427 Chevy.
When they looked inderneath and questioned the even spaced header down pipes and rear sump oil pan I simply told them it was a 302 setup out of a Bronco. Also had Muncie Rock crusher trans and Ford 9" rearend.
The hood ws pinned on all 4 corners, had a custom straight axle, and custom inner fender panels.
Fooled most of them!

Short polylocks will clear stock height valve covers. I have a post somewhere about that, because the L29's can't use a taller valve cover due to the throttle body going low over the top of the passenger side valve cover. If you go with a bigger cam circle, you have to go to adjustable valve train and most people go to a roller rocker of some kind at the same time. Standard polylocks will hit, but there are a few short polylock versions out there that will clear just fine.

It helps that a lot of ford engines get dressed in gm HEI distributors these days. Almost like a 1 wire self contained unit was better than Durash** 2 :) So you maybe just could pull it off yet again or with a something crazier yet even lol
