Annoying eek eek noise in steering column

My steering column is making a eek eek eek noise and as i increase speed it gets more abrupt it's not when i turn but when I'm going straight down the road it just squeaks it's sooooooooooooooo annoying i have to crank the stereo to drown it out!

You sure it's the steering column? Sounds like a bad speedo cable to me. Just to be sure, disconnect the cable and see if the noise is still there.

Are you positive it's coming from the steering column? I had a similar noise that ended up being the speedometer cable.
