As the title states, my ammeter/voltmeter gauge decided that it did not want to function anymore. A quick search on the google box seemed to suggest that this gauge obtains its reading via the printed circuit on the back of the gauge panel...is this correct? Or is there a sensor somewhere that I can test and/or replace?

Truck is a 1984 K30, Scottsdale trim, 454, 4 speed manual and does not have a tach gauge cluster.

Yes, it gets its reading from the instrument panel voltage.

Copy. Looks like I'll be taking the gauge panel apart then. Thanks!

Possibly a lifted or broken trace on the circuit board or the meter went kaput.

cold soldier joint or broken, when you find the wire to the gauge to can re-soldier on just about any trace on that board. or Change it out and tie in to the alternator for a real reading. amd or the meter went bad like @jake wells said

Disconnect your ground wire at the battery first!
