72 frame vs 82

I’m looking to put an old school winch bumper on my 1982 K2500. I’ve found one from a 1972 K20. Are the frames the same at the front bumper or will modifications be needed

Here is a pic. of my 73 frame. I know they changed but can't tell you if it will affect the mounting.

as you can see they are rounded on the end instead of cut off.

I'd get it anyway. Shouldn't be too hard to retrofit it. I have a front frame section from a 67-72 GMC frame. Ill try to dig em up

72? or 73? Either way, the frames are different, the '73 being less so. But it wouldn't be too hard to adapt, most of those offroad bumpers were and still are largely universal

Thanks for the info guys! I guess what I’m looking for is the width between the frame rails the same? I have no problem drilling new holes or cutting and welding new brackets just don’t want to jimmy rig with spacers etc.

First picture of cutoff frame is 67-72
The other is a measurement of a 61 chevy frame. 28-1/2"

I would have to say the 72 and 73 frames are pretty much identical except additions for a new model. Date stamp on my frame

The would definitely be different considering that's 2 different generations of truck. Different cab mounts, I'd image different rail shapes, definitely different front and rear horns. Though I've never had a 67-72 and a square frame side by side to know exactly
