Hi all, just wondering where abouts I could find the knock sensor on a 454 TBI? My water pump is shot and it knocking quite badly from the failed bearing (another one on order:rolleyes:) but around the time the water pump got worse I also experienced a big loss of power. Just wondering if the knock sensor could be picking up the water pump? Running the engine with the drive belt off to isolate the water pump the engine runs noticibly smoother at idle and when giving it some revs - however I havent gone for a run with no water pump so I dont know if the power would be back to normal or not. Thinking that unplugging the knock sensor might work to test the theory of the power loss

I don't recall for sure about the big block. But it should be in the side of the block on the passenger side, like a small block has. Er, by "passenger side", I really meant right side.

Dont worry, I would have assumed RHS;). Are they in the block itself or the head?

Should be in the block itself. Actually in a drain hole for the water jacket, so watch out for flowing coolant when you take it out.
