454 oil on intake

So I got this 74 crew cab a few months back and giving it the once over has oil around head that is coming from valve cover gaskets. The motor has been swapped to a newer one looks like a date code of 80 on intake and carb. So I did the drivers side, moved over to the passenger side and was blowing out the bolt holes with brake clean to help the bolts stay put after the install and moved to the middle one on the top side and sprayed waiting for it to squrt me in the eye like the others and nothing. The hole hopefully goes down to a passage around the egr area hopefully this is normal. So I got my trusty air blower out and sprayed it in the hole and air blew out the intake gasket where a pool of oil was sitting I believed coming from the valve cover gasket so I'll get some gaskets and hopefully get a chance to tear it down in next few days and see what's wrong.

You need to remove your intake tube and look into the throttle body and tr and see if oil is puddled in the intake. I know on the 07 and newer they have a new valve cover to help with this problem because the oil gets sucked into the intake

A good 'ol fashioned 454 doesn't have an intake tube or a throttle body.
