Alright well I have been wanting to do this swap for about 3 years now and am finally ready to do it. I want to drop a 12V turbocharged cummins in my 85 K30. Also has a 3" body lift if that helps for clearance. Front axle is Dana 60 and rear is the GM14 10.5...ex-military pickup with practically no miles on it. I took the 6.2 out and installed a 350tbi which runs great but theres just something about a cummins. I want to make this swap as much bolt on as I possibly can, and the least amount of welding.
I understand that there are so many threads about this swap all over the web but would like to start my own here on GMSB.
What trans and tcase am I best off with in this swap? Also what are the best bolt on motor mounts and crossmembers that I can purchase? If anyone has any answers or any positive input for me I would appreciate it...Thanks

Ok I found a 96 dodge 3500 with the 12v. Truck has 150,000 +\-. It is a rust bucket but the motor is good and the trans leaks and is weak. He's asking 2300. What do you guys think?

Well Ive just been gathering parts and whatnot, I ended up buying a 94 3500 with 89k miles. It has an auto trans and is also 4wheeldrive. I think Im just gonna run the automatic transmission for now and maybe down the road, switch it out. I have a GM NP205 and an NP208. Will these bolt up to the dodge tranny??
