    14 bolt brakes

Anyone have any good pics of the rear brakes of the different 14 bolt rear ends? My 3/4 ton drums measure 12" ID & 13 1/4" OD roughly across. And around 4 1/4" in depth. I have not removed the drums yet to measure the shoe width. Do I have the 11 5/32" brakes or the 13" brakes?

Replaced the heater core and heater control panel.

1st thing I do when I buy a different truck, is put in a new heater core & engine heater & make sure it all works. Heat is a must for the north. Freezing rain, snow, freezing fog, frosty windows, sleet, temps lower than zero. Thou shalt not be cold. Mice love that duct, it's like a big condo...

    84 blinker lever

Thanks, I was hoping it would work. I haven't removed the stalk yet. Just the cruise junk at the engine. I have to replace the key switch & blinker switch in the column anyways. Gonna do all 3 at the same time.

    84 blinker lever

This truck came w/ cruise & intermit wipers. The lever itself is shot. I have done away w/ the cruise. Can I buy a new lever that just has the intermit wipers only & plug it in & will it work?

    454 & 400 turbo

The 454 is in & running. The flexplate to 400 torque converter & motor mounts bolted right up. Had to cut the fan shroud. Couldn't even begin to get it on because the 454 is about 3" longer than the 350. The aluminum cover that protects the flexplate & converter needs trimmed at the crank & pan...

Long tube or short tube headers?

I had long tube headers on my 454 & what I didn't like was the one side is right beside the starter making it very hot & every time I drove in wet conditions I would be replacing the collector gasket shortly after. Other than that I loved them. Get yourself a locking bolt kit for the header...

    454 & 400 turbo

Oh, it's awake :) This is a 1974 454 w/ oval port heads. I had it ported about 15 years ago & had a big lumpy cam that shook the steering wheel, sounded awesome, also has flat tops & other perf items. It would absolutely fry the tires on my 77 3/4 ton. When it was in my 78 1/2 ton all I did...

    454 & 400 turbo

My 84 has no guts. Has a stock 350 in it. I have a 454 just dying to get installed in this 84. The 454 has been in my 78 & 77. Both had turbo 350s. Is the bolt pattern the same on the turbo 400 for the flexplate & torque converter?

    400 turbo won't kickdown

I found out that the truck has been sitting longer than the guy told me. It does kick down now, solenoid is working great. I dropped the pan, cleaned it up, new filter, fluid & etc. I also installed a drain plug. My pan is 3" deep. The valve body in the forward corner on the passenger side...

    400 turbo won't kickdown

I took it out on the highway tonight. It does shift through all of the gears, 1-3. I stomped on it once & it took off like it should. Then every time after that, it was doggy like before. I can get a solenoid for around $30, a pan gasket & fluid. Looks like the solenoid would be easy to replace...

    400 turbo won't kickdown

I just bought a 1984 K20 Scottsdale that has almost been untouched. Everything is stock except the crate engine. I test drove it around the guys neighborhood & never really got test very much. It drove & stopped & was priced right so I bought it. Now to my issue. I can floor the gas pedal &...
