    I'm at a loss..

I know thread is a couple months old,,but I'm assuming the brake shoe hardware was installed correctly? this opposite sides mirror images of each other. It's easy to but a spring on backwards, causing a bind, or the self-adjuster was flipped, or even the bar and related spring installed...

    Driveline vibration help

a slight bend to your rims can cause a vibration, but hopefully the guys who mounted/balanced your new tires paid attention and checked to wobble or ocsillation when spinning the tires., But other than that try some shims between the axle pad and the leaf spring to lessen the angle

    front/rear braking bias

I have my 81/84 K20, and I have changed the brake proportioning valve hoping to have better braking, with no change. I have the metic 14 bolt with the 13" brake at the rear. My problem is the system is heavily biased to the rear, which is fine if I have a ton of weight at the back, BUT,,,,,,my...

    "Rebuilt" 700r4 issues

That would be the point of having the TC lock up vacuum switch in place, when vacuum drops as you step deeper into the gas pedal, vacuum pulls the switch open, unlocking the torque convertor

    How I hate electrical issues...

I totally understand about hating electrical, regarding the harness running to the rear, I did exactly that, except I used a 7 wire trailer harness, so i had an extra wire for my electric trailer brake, and for a rear mount light that I use with a toggle for extra lighting while backing up in...

    350 intake parts questions.

1ST is a ported vacuum switch, part of emissions system, often deleted. 2nd pic I believe is a vacuum port for distributor, as some quadrajets apparently did not have vacuum ports, but I have never seen one of those in person. someone will chime in to offer another possible function.

    Prepping for 700r4 goodness

The radiator will "pre-cool" the ATF to 190f-210f, then will pass through the auxillary cooler, further bringing down temp. All coolers are gvwr rated, and in AZ, or towing, it wouldn't hurt to go large on cooler size. I run a 11"X12" stacked fin cooler, and have never had a problem running...

    extended bumpstops

hi, thanks, but YIKES!!!! $240.00 is a bit too steep for a hauler/off-roader kind of truck.

    extended bumpstops

I've had a Pro Comp 6" lift on my truck for a number years now. I installed poly bumpstops, 4" I believe, and of course the ones at the rear are no where close to actually doing anything. Anyone have ideas on how to lower the rear bump stops? I thought of buying heavy duty steel rectangular...

piece of cake, go to a boneyard, get all related parts, if possible take the compressor as well, as you will be charged a core charge, swap out all ducting, head unit, evap box with relays etc. minimal work is need modify, as most should be a bolt on. don't forget the crank and p/s pulleys as...

86 GMC K1500 Crate 350-Adding HP without Removing Engine

You don't need a carb bigger than 600 cfm for an engine with that small an output, 600 cfm will probably be good up to 400 hp

    Brighter lights all around

You can't go wrong with the LMC harness for your lights. Simple to install, just pick your routing carefully so it doesn't chafe on anything. I use the Lmc headlights and used Hella h4 bulbs purchased from Whitney, the are 55w low beam and 100w highs. Good coverage, but I'm not a fan of the...

    Rear Speaker Source

I have installed a new stereo with BT tech, and I was wondering about the rear speakers behind the seats in the corner of the cab. Does anyone sell a speaker in the 200w, or greater range that will fit in the stock location brackets? If not, care to post some examples of what you installed? I...

    Kill Switch

the old dimmer stitch on the floor could be used as a ignition hot wire interrupt switch on models with the dimmer on the t/s stalk. on models with the floor switch already in place, a hidden toggle switch could be used.
