Had the new wheels put on today at tire shop with conventional lug nuts. Truck rode like a worn out wagon! Going to Summit Racing tomorrow to talk with reps there and purchase the correct Cragar lug nuts. Cragars are 610G SS with correct 5 on 5 bolt pattern, +00 offset. Lug needs a shank to...
Can you get a needle nose vice grip on the screw head? If so, you can apply pulling pressure while you spin the screw out.
Don't forget about the salvage yards in a grille replacement too to save some $.
I also bought one from LMC and it seemed short too. Here's what I did to make it fit: placed hose in direct sunlight for several hrs to help soften it up, then pulled to stretch hose overall.
I secured end at front with a worm gear clamp and used a long zip tie at breather end. You could also...
My truck was missing this long duct so I purchased one from LMC. I just got the AC serviced and sealed the ducts today with foam tape. This long duct to left vent is the last piece to get the ducting installed correctly. I'll give it another look tomorrow. Thanks for the advice!
Can anyone explain the routing and positioning of the long duct tube that runs from HVAC box to the far left vent on driver's side? Does the dash pad need to come off to install it? Thanks.
Have an 87 GMC Sierra Classic- I do not have any blower fan blowing at any of the speed switch settings. Switch is also new. Can someone point me in the direction of what to check in order of trouble shooting? Thanks in advance.
No luck at the salvage yard this morning. I did find and purchase a 91 Caprice 16X4 compact spare off eBay though. I will take some measurements under the bed as I plan to mount a winch type mechanism for a carrier.
Thanks guys! I'll make a trip soon to my local salvage yard to try and find a narrow 15 inch that will work. My truck has been lowered 2" and I'm missing all the carrier hardware to secure the spare too so I'll look at trucks there for those pieces as well.
What other 15 inch wheels including other makes and models will work on our trucks? I need a spare and unsure what may fit. Thanks in advance for any and all suggestions!
I agree. Prob a lot of mark up on top of actual cost to make. If I buy one, I'll look at possibilities of reverse engineering to bring a lower cost alternative. Can't be that hard to construct/fabricate.
Anyone know what is the max towing capacity for the 1987 1500 series 2 wheel drive with the 5.7 350 TBI engine? Just wondering what I might be able to haul on the bed and/or tow on trailers. Thanks in advance!
The stock steering box on my GMC sure leaves a lot to be desired on turning radius and number of turns of steering wheel to do so. Are there any new or used units out there that are plug n play that will mount up in stock/ original location without any needed mods or alterations that would allow...
