Splash Shields?
The piece outlined in dashes labled "1" if that's what you're referring to goes along/ on the outside the frame inside the front wheel opening to stop stuff splashing into the engine compartment. That "notch" cut out is around the shock if that helps you visualize where it goes- RecklessWOT

Glove box lock
My '87 burb has a locking center console, and the glove box "looks" like a lock but it in fact has no place to put a key. I did however own an '87 GMC sierra classic?(silverado trim, can't think of what GMC called it off the top of my head its late and I'm tired) and it had a locking glovebox...- RecklessWOT

The Best Carburetor?
Eactly the setup I have on my T/A. Came with an Edelbrock manifold and carb, the carb was messed up so rather than playing with it I tossed on a known good Holley I had on the shelf, and that was the winning combo. Just picked up an LT4 swapped '86 C10
I love the idea of an LT4, I really even just want to LT1 swap mine. I could personally do without the wheels and massive drop but to each his own, the engine swap alone is enough to make me look past the other stuff lol- RecklessWOT

Will Headers work with TBI and older engine
It will sound better for sure, you *may* pick up a tiny bit of power, and it will look cool under the hood. However headers are prone to having gasket leaks as mentioned above, once it's no longer stock you may have issues down the road you may not, but you will have opened yourself up to that...- RecklessWOT

gas gauge goes back an forth when im moving.
it bounces and floats around, but once you're sitting still or just cruising steadily on flat ground it will give an accurate reading. Not the best system for a split second glance, but if you know your truck well enough you will know how much fuel you have. Only ever bothered me a few times...- RecklessWOT

On my '87 Suburban, or the '87 GMC longbed Sierra I previously owned, only the lower bulbs were on when the hi-beams were activated. Sometime over the last 36-37 years someone could have rigged it so all 4 stay on when Hi-beams are on. It's pretty common. Even when I run WAYYY too heavy of a mixture (we're talking like half a can in the gas tank of an 8hp briggs and stratton), the thing bogs down and chugs, but then runs GREAT afterwards, cleans it right out. I've never seen any damage done from the stuff, not even sure how it could damage anything?- RecklessWOT
