Unfortunately the rear axle was gone.

    1/2 to 3/4 helpppppp

Okay I just shot a text to my friend who is a Chevy nerd and he says you could get a 1500 as a f44 and a 2500 as the same thing and they are identical. --Edit, he says the only difference between the two is the rear springs. So a 1500 f44 had lighter duty springs than a 2500 f44. This...

    1/2 to 3/4 helpppppp

I literally just looked at a GMC 2500 two days ago that had a 6 lug front axle. We pulled a bench set out of it for my brothers truck. That's why I was originally thinking they had light duty axles.

    1/2 to 3/4 helpppppp

Being thirsty for knowledge and realizing my original suggestions were inaccurate I did a little research and I found that the 88+ light duty 3/4 tons had the 14 bolt semi floater as mentioned above but had the same IFS differential as the 1/2 ton. I was unable to figure out which trans they had.

    1/2 to 3/4 helpppppp

I was pointing it out because I see it a lot in craigslist where people have them listed as 3/4 ton axles. But I was under the impression they were still 10 bolt. I was wrong though. Learn something everyday.

    Subwoofer???

My most surprising setup and my favorite was a kicker comp VR. They are know wattage sub's and not pricey either. The low wattage amp given you lots of smaller options for power supplies. Also my experience is being in the same space as the sub lowers the amount of power you need.

Think my VW Golf TDI is totaled

Glad you are okay, that is really scary. The exact same thing happened to me but it wasn't snowing and I recovered control of the vehicle. My 4 year old niece was in the back seat and some hotrod in a gradorix was flying in the oncoming lane. All I seen was his headlights curve into my lane...

    1/2 to 3/4 helpppppp

Well all 3/4 axles are 8 lugs but Chevy did make some 3/4 ton 6 lug axles. It was like a light duty 3/4 ton or something....it wasn't a great idea. Anyhow...don't mistakingly buy them because they really are not any better that what you have. You are looking for 8 lug 3/4 ton axles. I was...

    1/2 to 3/4 helpppppp

One thing I can tell you is that do not get a set of 6 lug 3/4 Axles. They are not the same as the 8 lugs. Where are you in IL?

    ideas wanted

While this sounds like a synchro problem it could very well be old fluid and or a dragging clutch exaggerating a slight synchro problem. I would look into fresh fluid if you haven't done it in the recommended service interval or didn't use a quality recommended fluid. I know GMs call for a...

    Rear Spring Hangers

With as many people do shackle flips there is probably hundreds just sitting in the corners of peoples garages. Or you could always pop on off at the junk yard. I'm no help if yoir looking for a new replacement though.

    Anybody running an X-Pipe?

I had an x pipe on my 88 k10 and I just bought a eBay xpipe in the size I needed and ran both pipes down the stock passenger side locations and added the x pipe there.

    I just want it gone....

16 and 17 mm are both in between 5/8ths and 11/16. Also 21/32 is in between there. So one of those wrenches I just mentioned will definitely fit. Some times old work hardware can be worked out with a little smaller wrench.

Good price on decent 88 bkazer

http://lasalle.craigslist.org/pts/4816581531.html This blazer looks pretty clean, floors are not rotted through yet. Lots of parts. Guy says he has 800/in it and to make an offer. This is in streator IL, about 1.75 hours from Chicago, 3 hours from Indianapolis.

    intergrated heads, options and modification

Glad this thread pooped up. I love the straight 6s! Hopefully one day I'll run across a deal on one.

Who is running pro comp front springs?

Yeah the lift comes with all the extra stuff. It is installed on a truck that's being parted out so all the stuff is there wish part of the reason I want it. Then once i make my shackle flip and get stuff for my 52s in front it'll be a whole lot less stuff to deal with.

Who is running pro comp front springs?

I'm getting the lift for 150 including shocks and hardware. That's a really fair price. And I'm getting 35" A/Ts on 6 lug turbines for 150. I need new shocks anyhow and for 300 bones I'll be getting nitro shocks and 4" of lift and 35" tires.

Who is running pro comp front springs?

Ain't that the truth. I really was thinking of avoiding lifting my truck but I just can't get over how goofy it looks with the tear tires so far inside the wheel well And such tiny tires. My stock Toyota had bigger tires than this and had factory flares to cover them up because the stuck out...

Who is running pro comp front springs?

Thanks for the input. Yeah I'm not looking for a great ride or anything....I build and ride choppers so if I can tolerate that I should be fine haha.

Who is running pro comp front springs?

Okay here is the deal. I want to do a 52" swap up front and a shackflip in the rear but I don't have the time or parts for that just yet and my tires are shit. I found a great deal on some decent 35s and turbine wheels on craigslist so I started looking for lifts and I ran across a great deal...

    Fuel gauge stuck? Not reading

That sounds like a classic sending unit going bad. Eventually it will just not work all together or become extremely erratic bouncing allover the place.

My k5 mpg blew my mind today? (305 ci)

Yes 700r4 with a new filter and type f fluid, TV cable adjusted up a little to hold gears a little longer. The only problem with The trans is it locks the torque converter up as soon as it hits overdrive.....which is really inconvenient. I just hit the brake enough to keep it unlocked until in...

My k5 mpg blew my mind today? (305 ci)

Hey I'm with ya, I got 6 mpg on my past tank with the vacuum lines all messed up. That's why I have absolutely no clue how. But 4 gallons at 100 miles is 25 mpg. And yeah I have a 700r4. The RPO codes are gone from the dash so I plan to check the gear ratio when I do the brakes this...

    Passenger side popping sound

Pickle fork is really nice for popping the threaded end through. And usually a socket and a hammer to drive them out.
