    Help with malfunctioning cluster.

    I had a similar problem with dash lights in my cluster. The bulbs kept falling out. My solution was to put in aftermarket gauges fro Nu Vintage USA. That was in 2018. They are still working great.

    A Zinc Oil Additive is important for a fit tappet lifter engine. They modern oils don’t have zinc because of catalytic converters. There is some debate on the necessity of Zinc only for break-in of if it should be uses on every oil change.

    Break in procedure

    Use a Zinc additive in your oil. Especially important for the flat tappet cam. The oil we have today does not have zinc.

    LMC should be proud

    Sorry to hear that you had a bad experience with LMC. Have purchased many parts from LMC which have been excellent. Most of my purchases have been interior parts. They have all work out, fitting properly and looking great.

    sloppy steering.

    Had a similar issue with my steering. Went to replace the steering gear and discovered it had pulled away from the frame. Had to weld about a 1 inch piece onto the frame to be able to replace the steering gear.

    Header Paint?

    Spray mine with Graphite. Low cost, easy to apply. The Graphite will wear off however lasts quite a while. Additional applications increase the durability. The color is carbon black.

    Instrument cluster problem

    The grounds are a good place to start. Also check the harness connection on the back of your gauges. You may be able to reach up under the dash to locate harness. Wiggle it to see if has come loose.
