    Best mud tire?

I just bought a set of Falken Wildpeak MT 01 tires three days ago. We had snow the next day and they went really well. They should go really well in the mud. Now as for how long they will last? I have no clue yet. I picked them up at WM for $198 265/70-17. They come in other sizes too and...

    Any help dating this lift?

I am probably wrong but I think those were around 80's early 90's. I think I had a heckethorn steering stabilizer on a truck in early 80's. Heckethorn color was yellow also which is the color of the bushings. Sorry- I just saw honkys response above. He has it nailed. I was going by my memory...

    Ball joint ?

I put Moog ball joints on my truck and IIRC I had to take one back and get a replacement because something wasn't right when I opened the box. I think the boot was bad or something. Sorry its been too long ago. I figured they were definitely better than the Chinese lifetime warranty crap that...

oh my god, broken adaptor 4 speed muncie to np203 t-case, new '74 chevy k20

I had a 465 mated to a 203 years ago. It came only in 1974 model trucks. I sold it and switched to 465/205 combo later. I can't remember what I did as far as changing driveshafts though. I think I had to have a new rear one made and the front one cut but I am not sure. I would suggest switching...

    Help stop theft 87 V10

George is right guys. FWIW- I, along with most of you, would be mad as hell if some lowlife POS stole my truck. I don't care what color, weight, handedness, None of that BS and I suspect that it wouldn't matter to you guys either. It is the thought of somebody stealing something that is dear to...

    Help stop theft 87 V10

If you are really serious, you could hide an old smartphone under the dash. It could be hardwired in and the locator app turned on. They may steal but keeping it is a different story. Of course you would have to add another line to your existing plan but it would be a good way of keeping track...

Tow Trucks, Wreckers and Car Hauler Discussion

I know a guy that used to deliver bodies to the state medical examiner's office as a side job. In any event it was over an hour's drive to get there. He drove a white station wagon with black tinted windows. The body would be in a body bag strapped to a gurney. On one of his first trips down he...

What have you done to your square lately??

I bought a set of 36-12.50 Swamper TSL's mounted on polished aluminum slots. They are bias ply but are almost new. They still have the excess rubber flashing between lugs. I have been polishing the wheels.

    400 sbc build

 I think this topic has been discussed and argued, before. Just saying. I am going to sit back since I commented on the last thread that had this similar question in it. I am also pretty sure the same guys weighed in on it as well. BTW- Rich do you have a computer program that can...

    Bvllsh!t on craigslist.

Not knocking a 22 I have a lot more than 3 brother. I haven't bought any for a long time now as I have plenty in stock. No ammo shortage for us here in my household. We hunt with 22's too. A lot of people seem to have trouble finding it though from what I have read. Always be prepared. BTW-...

And you bring up a very valid point! That must be one of reasons 22 ammo has been scarce for the last two years.:)

    GMC light covers from KC

I got a set of those as a Christmas gift back in the late 80's. They held up pretty well. I had them on the truck for a long time. As for being a special promo I don't know. I do know that I never saw another set on a truck anywhere around here. I kinda think they are a little hard to come by.:)

    Upper Front Shock Mounts

Here is a pic of mine. Now I have a double mount setup. The inner shock is tight between the frame and the original mount. I don't know if you can zoom in close enough to see it though.

    Electric vs Manual Choke

Like I said earlier the heat stove choke is the only one I have used on the truck since 1985. I never have had any trouble with it. It has sat outside in -10 degree F all night and started up fine. I only sat in the truck long enough to kick the fast idle off and then I locked the door and went...

    Inner rockers

You might try Summit racing for replacement parts. I have bought Sherman and Goodmark brand parts from them. You can look at my build so far in the Under Construction section. We are replacing the exact parts that you need to replace. As a matter of fact I need to post some more pics. I bought...

Oh crap. That just sucks on so many levels. Well now you know what happened with the old motor. It sounds like a good plane for the new one though.

    Sm465 question

Use the bushing. I would take the bearing and throw that POS in the trash. Just saying. I have heard too many people having that bearing come apart after a short period of time. You will never have that problem with the bushing.

    I might be in trouble

If you can reuse the block and get the rods reconditioned then rebuild it yourself. The advantage to rebuilding it yourself is that you know exactly what brand parts are going into that engine. After it is done and someone asks you about it you tell them exactly what is in it. You will be glad...
