    Ok, I just found it odd that it is on all the time, except when the control is in the off position. For instance if I have the heat vents on, and the air lever to hot, and the AC compressor is running. Now I just need to find out why it's not building any pressure and making a lot of noise...

    I have an 85 with factory AC, which still works. I noticed that wherever the lever for the climate controls is positioned, the compressor is powered up, except in the off position. So if I have lever all the way over on the defrost, the AC is on. What should I look at?
