    Driveshaft swapping?

With the 6 inch lift I just out in I want to extend my driveshaft. I was thinking though.. Are there any chevy driveshafts that have the same u joints but are already 2 or 3 inches longer? I'm just curious, not sure which direction I'll go with it yet.

    Vibration in square body driveline

Apparently, contrary to what I would do, he decided to take it to the shop. They said u joints and bad driveshafts. So 500 bucks later he should be driving this hulk

    Vibration in square body driveline

Pinion angle is damn near perfect. I was thinking also that I would loosten the tranny mounts and re tighten them to see where it fell back down

    Vibration in square body driveline

Tires aren't the issue I had them on my truck prior. We did that and don't see anything but it was night so I'd like to do it gain during the daylight

    Vibration in square body driveline

Okay so my buddy just got a 74 Cherokee with axles out of a 87 3/4 ton. It also has a 305 with the turbo 400 tranny and 208 transfer case. So anyways what happens is it will accelerate fine and then when you let off the gas it vibrates like a bastard. Shaking the whole vehicle. I did the front...

Vibration after 6 inch lift install

Its a bent rim. Probably also why the tire took 19 ounces to balance lol

Vibration after 6 inch lift install

It's a shake. Basically the truck is going up and down as I drive. I feel like I'm on a miniature bucking bronco.

Vibration after 6 inch lift install

And John, My pinion is actually pretty square to the drive shaft so unfortunately probably not the issue

Vibration after 6 inch lift install

could it maybe be a warped rotor on the front left? Though if it was a problem with the front id think it would be screwing with my steering. Just a thought since we hammered the piss out of the steering arm and heated it up as well

Vibration after 6 inch lift install

Hey just hoping to tap a few greater minds here: Just installed a 6 inch lift in my 87 2500, with no issue EXCEPT for the fact that my rear end vibrates like a bastard. I thought it would be the new 37 inch tires i have but I balanced them and its still there. Maybe even worse actually. Also...

    Steering Arm Removal

I started to do my 6 inch lift tonight and quickly realized how much of a bear it was going to be to get the old steering arm off with the cone washers. Any suggestions on how to make this easier? Thanks

Engine Still Misses After Replacing Ignition Parts

Where might one find a vacuum gauge? Also if I replaced most of the vacuum lined should I probably be going after the intake gasket at this point?

Engine Still Misses After Replacing Ignition Parts

I ended up not getting to it before I came back to school unfortunately. I'll check all the fuel lines and such first when I get home in a couple weeks

Engine Still Misses After Replacing Ignition Parts

Also Im correct in my thinking that each fuel tank has its own fuel pump? And that that is likely not the issue seeing as it does it the same amount on either tank

Engine Still Misses After Replacing Ignition Parts

Yeah exhaust back pressure is definitely not the issue that I can say with confidence lol. Are these TBI systems typically not very vacuum oriented?

Engine Still Misses After Replacing Ignition Parts

Okay so in terms of the miss Im about to go into great detail here so bear with me... What it is doing: First it idles around 1200 RPM which seems high. Then, no matter what when no load is on the engine and I am in the cab perating the gas watching the tach, i will build up RPM to around 1800...

    Tie Rod issues

They were both turning equally however the steering box wasn't. Way I see it they're probably stock and either way, good or bad, I have the money and it can't hurt to replace them while I'm doing the lift anyways. I'm currently replying to the miss post as well it's a doozie.

    Tie Rod issues

Yeah I have a hunch it's that the rod connecting to the steering box. When I had the truck on a lift a month ago I could move the left tire and saw the nut on top of it moving. Didn't think much of it till later. I was doing the hubs at the time.

    Tie Rod issues

Thanks for helping me out. I believe the one that goes to the pitman arm is what I need.. shes got a little bit of play in her. And by a little I mean a quarter of a steering wheel worth at least. That first one looks huge!
