    Rear frame support/crossmember on 2wd

Yeah, figured it was the spare tire hanger because of the location of the hole in the center of it. And it does have that rear crossmember there, that's where my ground got tied into for the bed because we all know how awesome the grounding system on these trucks are lol. Apppreciate it bud

What have you done to your square lately??

Battery is only needed if she's an automatic, pop start that b*tch and let it roll....... But anyways good to be back and see things are the same here. Did some stuff to the truck only to get it inspected for another year. Found a header blew a hole clean through it on the passengers side...

    Rear frame support/crossmember on 2wd

Ok, so heard something that had me spooked a bit today. Took a turn on an incline and heard a bang like something threw a baseball into the side of the truck bed. Pulled over and found one of the rear supports between the frame rails was broken, assuming that was the noise I had heard. Quick...

    Master cylinder ID help needed

@Made in Flint My truck has the exact same specs, 250 I6, manual brakes and should be 100% interchangeable. GM played the carryover game a lot with these trucks where the exact same part was used from model year into the next. Assuming this would be the case with the masters and possibly the...

    New Guy from RI

I'm up in the Dudley area, and yeah there are some pretty nice spots to hit up with the truck once you get her going pretty decently. I usually find my way down to Brickstone Kitchen in Sutton for their cruise nights once in a while. Thompson Rod & Gun Club has a decent one, there's always the...

    New Guy from RI

Welcome! Central MA here, lived very close to Tiverton for years before moving up this way. Hopefully you can get the pic thing sorted out. If you haven't already, post in the main mods section with the question. Could be a few things to name, but need more info on what's going on with it...

What have you done to your square lately??

Well with the limited availability of certain things, I bought a 3d printer and have been busy tinkering with it. The plastic eyelid grille trim retainer pieces have finally given up and I've taken on the task of 3d printing some parts. And a nice little bowtie display piece and some grille...

Question about checking current flow to the choke.

I also run power from an ignition/key on only source if you don't have the "necessary" electrical oil sending unit. I've done this with many trucks and never had an issue so far. I've ditched the dummy light sender on basically every single truck I've had and gone with a mechanical gauge. Yeah...

85 K10 with stacked headlights - are these connectors correct?

Low beams on top, they have the 3 wire plug, and high beams on bottom with the 2 wire plug. You can clean up the contacts inside the plugs and they will work just fine. My 83 has the original plugs and they work like a charm. I cleaned them up a bit to make sure they were getting good contact...

What have you done to your square lately??

Excited to see all the progress everybody is making. I'm just over here driving my square around and just enjoying it. But today I did some tinkering around and stuffed some stereo stuff in it for now. Haven't done anything custom with it for now, just stashed it in there and tested it all out...

    Subwoofers

I'm along with @Catbox on the old school vibe. Got a set of old school MTX Road Thunder II in a truck wedge box. Got them both for $20 total from a guy who used to DJ back in the 90's. Got one that's going in the truck with an older Kenwood KAC-628s 300w x1 bridged amp. RMS is only like 150ish...

80's K30 SRW really really close to me on FB Marketplace

80's K3500 SRW Chevy Really thinking about doing this and just getting another frame from a 3/4 or another 1 ton and just building it from the ground up. Being in Massachusetts I'm going to have to find a cab with a title but don't plan on getting it registered for a while since it'll be a...

    NP205 ID help

Update: Figured it out, 70-75 Chevrolet/GMC 27 spline from a 350TH trans. Called a buddy of mine that works at a local shop and pried the info out of him lol. So I found what I believe is a great deal on a used NP205 on marketplace near me. Any of you transfer case gurus able to assist me in...

    Proportioning valve sensor "stuck"

Yeah, it's a b*tch of a thing to get at in any of our trucks. Gotta love engineers from the mechanical aspect of things lol. Personally I'd try without resetting the shuttle inside the valve first just in case. Usually have to center the shuttle when she's been dry for a while and has almost...

    Proportioning valve sensor "stuck"

Usually, but not always once you've got the issue resolved, you can refill the reservoir and once the rears start building pressure again you should be ok. I wouldn't stomp on the pedal too hard, just smooth easy motions until she starts building pressure and the valve should recenter itself, or...

What have you done to your square lately??

Took the truck out to a local auto repair shop that was hosting a car show and Toys for Tots drive. It was a give a gift, get a coffee so I was all in :birgits_tiredcoffee Brought my daughter with me because next door is a earthy granola Gram-worthy coffee shop that I thought she would've...

    Starting issues

When does it happen? All the time? Only when you shut it off after driving it for a while? Only when it's 77.241°F with an ambient dew point of 73 and relative humidity higher than 43% or? But I'd start with checking out the solenoid on the starter. A lot of times it's heat soak in the starter...

    Rear Side Markers

Yup, purely a running light as wired oem. Sure you can wire it as a signal, but would have to set it up like how the front signals are wired so that the side markers turn off when the front signals turn on. Not sure if that's something you'd want to get in to or not.

    Rear Side Markers

Should be connected to the brown wire as a running light. The yellow is one of the signal/brake wires. Green is backup, black is ground and whatever remaining wire is the other side signal/brake wire. Brown connects to the side marker on the fleetside beds and license plate light, same as it...

    ‘86 heater problem

Going to need to know some more info friend. Sounds more like a power issue vs a heater plumbing issue. Can you hear the fan running? Is there no heat coming from the vents? Can you hear the actuator moving the door for the selector and heat? If it's an issue with the fan not running, I'd start...

Is this an aftermarket rear slider?

To me it looks like an aftermarket unit. I haven't seen one that clean for a really loooong time lol. But the tabs on the sides of the rear sliders seem like an aftermarket option to open the window easier. Should be a part number stamped in the frame somewhere that will help in finding it's...

What have you done to your square lately??

Replaced the dead GE363 bulbs for the aftermarket gauges with some LED alternatives. Super bright, now I can see the oil pressure and coolant temp at night. Finally got the cold start high idle set after like a week. Might actually do a led swap of the dash lights now.
