    Fuel line question

Harbor Freight carries a couple nice boxes of efi grade clamps, pretty decent price. You do have to buy both kits to get every size you need though. Have them on the 72 Super Beetle, modern fuel hose. Using the same for the C10 4.3 to 350 swap and carb converting my Vortec 350. While the OP...

Widest tire using stock 15x8 rallies

Reset to the front mounting hole. Still not visually centered, but the driveshaft has full movement. Still wearing P235/75r15 108XL rear tires. Rear flip, shock relocators and Gabriel Load Assist shocks. With standard shocks it sits 3” lower than in the pic, limiting it to a 28” tall tire.

    Ford 460 project

Huge fan of a 460/C6 or 460/NP435 combo, followed closely by FE (332-428) with the same transmissions. Building a 460 is 2-3x the cost of a 454, and a fraction of the cost of a B/RB Mopar. Offset by the so much more user friendly front mount distributor. Tell him to get a coil in cap...

    Boxing Frame

If you look closely, rather than boxing in, factory frame doubler lower section… Granted, this is where the factory boxed section goes to open rail on a gmt400 K3500 c&c… But (elephant sized but) no different than a lowrider on hydraulics running a “wrapped” frame. Unless you fully box, the...

Nobody warned me about the MPGs on these square bodies!

Late as usual but… 1985 C10 swb as issued with Qjet on a 4.3, Th400, 4wd airdam, open 2.73s, P205/75r15 on 15x6 rally wheels got 14-16 town, up to 29 hwy. Swapped to P215/70r15s, 14-16 town, 24-26 hwy. Swapped to LT235/75r15D ATs, 11-13 town, 18-20 hwy. 1992 K1500 extended cab short bed, tbi...

Cruise Control Linkage Needed for an 87 tbi

If a 92 rod would work, have 1 I don’t need. Engine is going carbed and back into a Squarebody (1979 block/heads).

Can anyone tell me about this step bumper? (Aftermarket?)

Was built by a now deceased friend for use on his cattle farm, no such thing as a “ranch” east of the MS River. Truck has a proper Class 4 frame mounted receiver hitch that is getting swapped to the front of my K3500. The K1500, The Shipwreckrolet, cost me $300 in 2013, running and drivable...

    1990 Suburban Master Cylinder Upgrade

I just want to swap the plastic reservoir over aluminum stock 85 mc for an all metal mc… 1.25” rotors with 11+” rear drums… Worked just fine, looks like a shaved down dirty dog’s butt… Truck is going full lowrider with 60s/70s style underhood trimming, yes that means chromed alt-ps-pb...

Can anyone tell me about this step bumper? (Aftermarket?)

That’s an actual ticket in TN currently… Fortunately, they don’t care what actually is back there. My K1500 had Schedule 40 black iron pipe cut in half, backed with 3/4” steel and core filled with “fish plates” used to hold railroad rails together… About 300lbs of “you really do not want to...

    What wire under new carpet?

Going to try and get the 6 cylinder out next week, get the frame prepped for a mildly hotrodded 350. Aiming for drivable by the end of June. Dad turns 81 in July, I refuse to fly out of Memphis or into SeaTac… Plus if I drive I can bring the rest of my stuff stored there back to TN… 1876...

    What wire under new carpet?

Vintage Sharp 23 channel, dual polarity, mic built in to the case. 102” stainless steel whip, on a spring. Bent back and clipped to the bed rail. Will likely go back to a 3’ or 4’ Firestick. Actually replacing the barely works factory am/fm radio with an FM only 8-track. Real tuner will be in...

    Modify your wiper arms…

Tried those too… Rattled on the mounting splines. Have run bumpside/dentside (67-79, but really through at least 86) on my 69 D-100 for over 20 years.

    What wire under new carpet?

Correct, need to run it out and under. Antenna is mounted to a stake pocket wall. Will holesaw the driver front bed floor corner drain to suit. Stereo antenna is in the windshield. Speaker wires are as issued, taped to the floorpan. Leaving small gaps to run those in.

    What wire under new carpet?

That would be of interest for my coax run. Would much rather run it out of the cab and then up into the bed corner. Easier to change out than r&r carpet/sound deadener.

    What wire under new carpet?

Leave the run channels to where you can readily access them. Like under the carpet sills. Loose wiring or a prepackaged components kit install will also make a difference in how much space to leave. The C10 we’re restmodding has a CB coax to run under the eventual floor covering, to a cab floor...

Hood panel to frame structure foam/adhesive.

Weld it only if it needs to be repainted anyway… That factory paint is some kind of foul if it gets scorched. And then add insulation to cut down some of the noise and/or heat induced paint damage.
