Broken hearted kid and fuel system
Hopefully your fuel pumps come with a warranty so at least you don't have to pay for one each time... Another thought is IF you all know of someone with a good working FP, try swapping what you think is bad with a known good pump and see what happens on both trucks. Breaks come on hard when coming to stop sign
I had a similar issue on my 77 C10. I found my bad rubber line by jacking the wheel up off the ground, apply and let off brake so the wheel hangs. Then start cracking the brake hose fittings loose until you are able to turn the wheel. That should tell you where the obstruction is. I had a bad...- Poodlehead

Cruise control works for a while then starts to lose speed
The cruise on my 77 C10 functions similar with losing speed going uphill. If I help it by manually pressing on the accelerator, once I get over the hill, it picks up speed like I've got a new 'setpoint' for the cruise to maintain. Fuel Pump?
Replacing all those little lines is an excellent idea, especially if I drop the tanks and replace the filter socks. Do you know what size hose I need to order, 5/16" ? Also, would you know what size the line is that the filter sock goes on? I'd rather have parts lined up once I get started...- Poodlehead

Fuel Pump?
Thank you for the PNs. It is very easy to change. The truck surges when accelerating so since it's is so old I'm thinking about dropping each tank, replacing the filter socks, and inline filters too. Any other suggestions are appreciated.- Poodlehead

Good point about finding a NOS pump and the rubber being shot. I never thought about it, thanks! I was reading other posts and people were bashing Airtex... I guess part of it might just be luck of the draw... Thanks again!- Poodlehead

I'm replacing my 2 line mechanical fuel pump on my 77 C10 stock truck. I'd like to use a US made AC Delco pump, but research shows they are no longer available. Would someone please tell me what the Delco P/N is in case I can find a NOS replacement? If I can't get a real Delco pump, research...- Poodlehead
