@Doppleganger and @Randy De Oreo both of your seams and fitment look great to me, thanks

    front fender gap

sorry, I misunderstood which picture you were talking about for reference. A lot got lost in translation here. The upside down junk picture is 81 and up, you are correct. I thought you were referring to my first picture in post 1 where I was showing the front gap and A pillar mess. I was only...

    front fender gap

Thanks @Grit dog. Good advice, especially on the A pillar fit. I agree the existing passenger side fender is most likely a overseas re-pop. I will search for replacement options and see how that looks. Thanks everyone. I just wanted to make sure I wasnt missing some shimming or alignment for...

    front fender gap

I thought 81 & up fenders had lower horizontal side marker lamps? That 73-80 had the vertical ones?

    front fender gap

At some point in the past 50 years it has been in a front end accident. The Silverado fender badges arent correct for a 73. The inner driver side is white, where the passenger is black. I am absolutely happy with the fitment of the AMD doors, bedsides and tailgate...so I am really thinking new...

    front fender gap

@PrairieDrifter if you are talking about raising or lowering the back of the fender closest to the door, it is shimmed so that the seam (for two tone paint) on the fender, door, and bedside all line up. I think if I remove any shims at the top of the rear fender, that body line would not line...

    front fender gap

I think the mounting nuts on the backside of the fender will determine this gap (I may be wrong) I found a picture of the backside of a front fender and zooming in where it bolts to the radiator support there is really no way to "massage them" as they are part of the formed inner skin of the...

    front fender gap

I need some advice on the best way to close an excessive passenger side front fender gap. After reading everything I can find on the subject, unless I am way off base, I think it may boil down to two possible options. 1. Loosen and shift the radiator support to the passenger side to even the...

New bedsides for 1973 long fleetside

I am not sure if it is ok to ask about specific suppliers, but I am looking for a pair of new 8' fleetside bedsides for a 1973. Obviously for that year, pickin's are pretty slim. With he prices and shipping, I would hate to get them in and find out they dont "bolt up". Any thoughts? My...

Sliding Bed back away from Cab

Thanks everyone, I really appreciate your input. Working on the lower bedside patch panels right now. Replaced both doors and the tailgate. Very happy with how the AMD doors fit.

Sliding Bed back away from Cab

Thank you all very much. I will get some pictures out this weekend. My immediate focus is patching the driver's rear bedside behind the wheel well. Thanks

Sliding Bed back away from Cab

Thanks. I saw a few cherry picker configs too. Maybe that is the way I will end up going but honestly am not really sure I need to completely remove it. Though if I had the resources that really would be the best. I am just looking for "B" is good enough to get at the back of the cab and the...

Sliding Bed back away from Cab

I need to clean, prep and paint the backside of my cab and front of the bed I am an older guy and where I live now, I dont have a group of able bodied (beer drinking) buddies to help lift my 8' bed off my '73 K10. I also dont have a need to disassemble it for the clean/pain process if I dont...

    1973 hood hinges

All, Thank you very much for your responses. I figured this out and it was entirely my mistake. The place that offered the 73-74 hood hinges (post 3) canceled my order and refunded my money because they are not available, so I was back to square one. It wasnt until I got an email asking me to...

Thanks @Big Chip! A little steep but maybe that is my only option

    1973 hood hinges

Thanks Mike. Those shots particularly where the hinge bolts to the inside of the fender looks just like mine. Sadly, I boxed up the pair I bought and sent back to Charlotte today. If you would, could you measure the distance of the two hinge to hood bolts? Mine are about 11.25 inches, the ones...

    1973 hood hinges

Thanks. Yeah, my fenders are in pretty good shape but swapping to newer fenders still wouldnt solve the hinge-to-hood issue. I am seeing this. Has anyone else heard of 73-74 hinges being different...

    1973 hood hinges

Sorry if this is the wrong forum, but I am having a hard time finding hood hinges to fit my 73 K10. I ordered a new set that is supposed to fit 73-80 and they are not even close. My existing ones which are shot, have approx 11.25" center to center bolt holes for the hinge to hood part. The new...

    K10 downsizing from 454 to 305 roller

I'll take a video of it running but honestly wont sell until the other one is in place and running good - besides, I will have a better feel for what parts I had to steal :)

lol, sure. You're about 1.5 - 2.0 hours from me. Come on down, drive it and make me an offer :)

    K10 downsizing from 454 to 305 roller

wow, thanks. That is something to consider. Still keep considering what you guys said earlier.....maybe doing work on the 454 and putting it back to a stock cam and idle may be the best option.... I could liquidate the SBC serpentine system for what I have in the 305... A lot to think about...
